  7. I would want to live in Philadelphia. It's the most noble, well built city ever seen, so that would be a good choice. Even though it's in Pennsylvania, and England would despise me becuase I would be a Quaker, I would still live there because I believe William Penn was a good guy and made a good colony. I believe everyone is equal in God's eyes, so being with other Quakers would be the best place for me. A place that models peace, religious freedom and Christian living is a good place to live in. Also by being under William Penn the Indians wouldn't want to kill me. Daniel P.

  9. I would live in Jamestown. The reason is because there trade and crops were all in good shape. They had things like corn, squash, beans and many other things. As far as trade they were good with the Native Americans. The natives would give fur in exchange for food. Then the pilgrams would give the food to England. That kept them in good shape with the ones back at home. That is why I would live in Jamestown!!!!

  10. If i were to settle in any colony, i would settle in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was civil towards the Indians which led them to be more prosperous. William Penn, the founder, persuaded the settlers to pay the Indians for the land. That caused the Indians to respect the colonists. The colony itself was rather large and well populated. Pennsylvania was a very civil town it seems. As a visitor said, it was "the most noble, large, well-built city I have ever seen."

  11. If I had to live any colony I'd live Pennsylvannia. This colony was different from meny other colonies in the middle region, mainly because of William Penn.He believed that that "all people were equal in gods eyes."William Penn was a qauker and spoke out againest wars and violance. When William Penn came to North America he didn't like the way Indians were being treated and wanted settlers to pay the Indians for the land they took. In re turn the Indians respected the colonists. This is why I'd live in pennsylvannia, and because of William Penns revolutionary thinking.

  12. If I were to live in any of the colonies that we have recently learned about I would want to live in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was a well run and well built city. By being friends with the Indians that would help me by being able to trade and learn things that I didn't know and that would help me survive. William Penn was also good at keeping peace with the Indians so there wouldn't be any conflict with them he felt that the land belonged to the Indians so insisted that settleres should pay for the land. One settler remarked," as Penn treated the Indians with extraordinary humanity, they became civil and loving to us." Being a Quaker doesn't seem like it would be such a bad thing. There thinking seems to be logical as in,"Quakers beieved that all people-men and women, nobles and commoners-were equal in God's sight. They also allowed women to preach in public, another thing that I like is that they spoke out against all war and refused to serve in the army. By Pennylvania being a model of religous freedom, peace, and Christian living it seems to be a good place to live and settle.

  13. Based on the circumstances I would live in Pennsylvania. William Penn was a great leader even though he was persicuted for being a quaker. As for religious beliefs I would be a quaker along with Penn. It is morely the belief I'm acustomed to today. I am not Catholic, but I do believe in God, and I believe if you are a "good Samaritan" and follow God's plan and have faith you will join him in heaven. I would not feel so secluded in Pennsylvania because most who lived there were quakers that followed Penn. He respected the Indians that rightfully owned the land, and believed that people needed to pay the Indians for the land. That made this colony "the most noble, large, well-built city [I] have ever seen." It is clear this peaceful place that believes everyone is equal in God's eyes is a wonderful colony for a Christian/Quaker's way of life. I would be respected by the Indians, making myself capable of interaction with them and learning new ideas, that they can teach me without dispute. In my eyes: the smartest, most peaceful colony to live in.

  14. I think it was William Penn founding Pennsylvania. Because they left for a good reason. Which is, because he couldn't express his religous beliefs. He modeled his colony to have religous freedom, peace, and christian learning. The Indians respected him and he had a lot of different types of people like Germans. They had a capital city that was well-built says a visitor from 1710.

  15. I would like to live in the colonies of Rhode Island. I would like to live in the colonies of Rhode Island because William Penn, the founder of Rhode Island, believed in being Religiously tolerant. Which means to be open to other people's religions. I would also like to live in the colonies of Rhode Island because he also believed, and I agree, that the church should not have anything to do with the government. I also like the fact that he became friends with the Native Americans and then settled Rhode Island and respected their land and people. I would also like to live in the colonies of Rhode Island because William Penn allowed Protestants, Jews, and Catholics, unlike the church of Massachusetts Bay who did not allow Jews to take part of anything.

  16. If I had to chose to live in one of the thirteen colonies I would chose to live in Pennsylvania. William Penn was a good strong leader and was smart to create a friendship with the Native Americans. The Native Americans would have helped me by teaching me things that I didn't already know like how farm or trade items. Penn was good at making sure that confilts didn't grow between those living in Pennsylvania and the Native Americans. I'm glad that Penn allowed freedom of religion in his colony. That way I could be a Christian without being killed or hiding. If I was a Christian living in Pennsylvania the Native Americans would respect me and that would allow more interactions with them. Pennsylvania was said to be "the most noble, large, well built city [I] have ever seen" this was said by a vistior of the city.I think that Pennsylvania best built most well thought out colony to be established.

  17. If I were to live in a colony that we have learned about, I would choose Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was a well run colony. Pennsylvania was referred to as a “holy experiment” by William Penn. I could practice my religion freely and not be punished or jailed for my beliefs. Relations with the Indians were also good. William Penn kept the relationship going without fighting. Living in Pennsylvania, the Indians could help me with things that I either couldn’t do by myself or they could help me improve the way I did things. William Penn built the city of Philadelphia which was a noble, large, and well-built city. William Penn was a great leader of his colony. I believe that choosing Pennsylvania would be a good living decision.

  18. I would choose to live in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was lead by William Penn. He kept peace with the indians and lead by example being a quaker. Religious freedom would be someting i would look for in a good colony. Everyone being equal in god's eyes is what i srtongly believe too. You make choices and live with them, but everyone is still an equal. Also maintaining that peace with the indians was smart. In my eyes, more peace between eachother means better times. Wiliam Penn seemed as a fair leader, and ran a well built colony.
